Are you familiar with the BRAT diet? It's the bland diet we used to suggest in the ER for use by recovering tummies. It stands for Bananas-Rice-Applesauce-Toast (both the rice and the toast should be plain). It's bland, low-fat, high in simple (and easily digestible) carbs, and low residue - just what a recovering, and possibly still jumpy, tummy needs. Reintroduce fat, protein, and fiber as things settle down. (Probably the next thing after BRAT is broth, either plain or in the form of chicken-rice or chicken-noodle soup)
