So... we're six days into the 10 days of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories and Chase still isn't feeling nearly up to par. He's better but not well, which is not surprising but it's still disappointing, especially given how quickly he reacted at first.
The Deramaxx seems to wear off about 20 hours into a 24-hour dose, which means that he woke me up, panting and whining, at 4 a.m. four mornings in a row. Yesterday, I felt awful about doing it, but I delayed his morning meds 'til lunchtime, which meant the Deramaxx let him (and me!) sleep through the night. This means I now _have_ to come home for lunch for the rest of the week, but it's a small price to pay for getting to sleep those last few hours each morning.
So I appreciate any energy, prayers, good thoughts, etc., for Mr. Chase... hopefully the last few days of meds will knock this infection down. If not, he goes back for more tests and possibly, since I'm going to be out of town this weekend, a couple of nights at the vet. (My petsitter is willing to give meds, and she's extremely conscientious, but she's only here four times a day... he'd get more continual attention in one of the boarding "condos" at the vet's office.)
