Sally dubbed this concert "Two Bands Joined at the Harpist", which is about the best description I can think of. :-)
Wild Mercy and Alair are putting on a joint concert for an evening of great Celtic music on Saturday, August 25, 7:00-10:00, at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Indianapolis, 615 W. 43rd St., just south of the Butler University campus. The Alair Celtic quartet will open, followed by Wild Mercy; the bands share a harpist
harperjen, and will be performing five joint numbers at the end of the evening.
Alair (harp, flute, cello, violin) specializes in traditional Celtic music and gives their sound and arrangements a classical feel. Wild Mercy (harp, guitar, bass, keyboard, percussion, vocals) plays traditional and contemporary Celtic with an eclectic twist and tight vocal harmonies. Tickets: $6 in advance, $8 at the door, $5 for students, 12 and under free. (Advance tickets can be reserved by contacting any band member, since you may not see any of us between now and then.)
