I'm glad Mr Chase is feeling better, and hope his surgery goes well. Isn't it amazing the things they can do for pets now? If he has the cataract surgery can you have them put in some special-effects lenses that will make him look all crazy and Cujo-ish? :)
BTW, we'll be joining the ranks of the canine-owned this weekend. We're driving to Ohio to pick up a Great Pyreneese puppy to be our livestock guardian dog.
