I have my brain back!
My poor dead laptop is alive again, complete with new keyboard, upgraded hard drive, and a new DVD reader/burner ('cause the old one had died, and this one has the benefit of also being faster).
W00t!!
At the moment, I'm booted off the external drive while all my files image back to the new internal. And I'm fascinated by how crisp and springy the new keyboard feels. Of course, given the amount of cat and dog hair that we found in the old one, I'm not terribly surprised that it had started feeling a little odd!

Date: 2008-06-27 03:17 am (UTC)I used to buy these for the computers that were in the same room where the laboratory used radioactivity, since I knew that if someone dripping Hot from their gloves got contamination on the keys, the poor shmo cleaning it up would be me.
