almost time for OVFF

55 minutes left at the office. 55 minutes to try to either get stuff done or head off problems that might occur in my absence. 55 minutes 'til I don't have to be back at work 'til Tuesday. W00t!!

I've got a friend coming over after work to pick up a house key, and she'll stay with the furry horde, so they don't have to be boarded, which will make them and my finances much happier. :-) Said friend is also probably moving in, so I'll have a roommate again, which greatly simplifies things like travel and working late.

And my potential passenger from Indy has another ride who fits her schedule better, so now my morning is completely free. I can have a leisurely breakfast, take my time packing, and still be in Clumps in time to get settled into the hotel before I make an airport run at about 6 pm.

It's shaping up to be a much more relaxed weekend than I was anticipating, which makes me very very happy!

In my last 55 minutes before heading for OVFF, I found a fix for a bug which had been annoying people for a couple of weeks -- and which I'd been blaming on the vendor when it was my bug.

I feel like jumping in relief while banging my head against the wall.

Oh, cool! Congrats on finding/squashing the bug, even if it _was_ bug-of-your-own-making. :-) Honestly, sometimes those are the hardest ones to see...

I finished my final bit of pre-OVFF work by firing off a matchstick rocket in the classroom!

A rocket made of matchsticks? Nifty!

I'm frighteningly close to ready to leave. I don't think I've ever been packed and ready this early for an OVFF, which probably means I'm forgetting something important. In the morning, I need to clean out the truck and reconfigure it to have back seats instead of dog crates, since I'll be doing some people-hauling over the course of the weekend, but other than that, I'm basically ready to go. Squeee!! In 12 hours, I'm leaving for OVFF!

Actually, it's a rocket made of one paper match. The tip is wraped in aluminum foil with a channel for exhaust to shoot out the back. The one in my afternoon class hit the ceiling--the evening one just got a foot and a half off the desktop.
