Kaos is safe!

Woohoo!!!

Thanks to a whole bunch of people calling, cajoling, begging and pleading, we now have a volunteer to pick Kaos up from Miami Dade and get her to the vet who's agreed to board her. So Kaos is safe and now there's time to make more organized plans for finding her a forever home.

kychilehead commented to me earlier today about how cool it is to see the lengths that dog-lovers will go to to save one dog, and it's true. This kind of concerted effort from friends and strangers, for a dog halfway across the country from most of us, reminds me that there's hope for us upright apes after all.

I'm very glad to hear this... I would have been more directly involved, but unfortunately neither do we have any contacts at all that I didn't already contact, nor were we able to focus entirely on Kaos. We kind of got distracted with our own Papillon rescue for Brandy and put all our energy into that - in hopes that if she didn't have to worry about the dog we now have temp fostering with us, she would be able to better coordinate for Kaos. Looks like something, somewhere paid off.

Hey, you did the most important part... you got us "in the door" with OTRA and that's ultimately who managed both the pull from the shelter and then the transport from vet to foster parents, so it definitely paid off!

You still have temp foster(s)? I think I thought they were just overnighting... who've you got staying?

Putting us in contact with OTRA was a HUGE help. I don't know how this possibly could have worked out without them.
