Got checked out at the Mosser, where they asked if they could arrange transportation for me. I was tempted to ask if they had a sherpa to haul my bags around the block, but I didn't. I've literally moved around the block from myself... out the front door of the Mosser onto Fourth, down half a block to Mission, down the loooooong Mission block (okay, it's not really tremendously long, but it seems like it when dragging two suitcases, the laptop backpack, and a bag full of MacWorld swag), and around the corner on Fifth and into the Pickwick.
Check-in is at three, so I was afraid I'd have to ditch the stuff in bag check and come back later, but they had a room ready for me. It's a bit of culture shock, as I went from the ultra-modern room at the Mosser to overwhelming amounts of brocade at the Pickwick, but along the way I gained a king-sized bed with a pillow-top mattress (my shoulder will be so happy), a desk (yay!!), room to walk without tripping over my suitcase, and air conditioning... lovely, lovely air conditioning. The only downside is that I'm on the second floor and appear to be directly above the lobby or restaurant or somewhere with piped-in background music, 'cause I'm hearing jazz trumpet that I can't make go away. Oh well... it could be worse!
Now to finish getting unpacked and settled in!
