We got a half-day early release at work today, and Monday is Labor Day, so I'm looking at three and a half days for a combination of fun, laziness and catching up on chores.
On the chores side, my goal is to get all the laundry done (mine and the dogs'), thoroughly clean the kitchen and master bathroom, process the stack of mail/catalogs/etc. that's piled up on the coffee table, and wash the Beetle and the Trooper and redo the RainX on the Beetle's windows.
For fun, Sally and I have tickets to the Indians game on Saturday evening (2nd row of the 2nd level, behind home plate). They're playing the Louisville Bats, who get my bet for best team logo (it's a bat of the flying variety... not the slugging variety). The Bats won 4-2 in tonight's game, which hopefully means the Indians will be rarin' to redeem themselves tomorrow night. Best of all... post-game fireworks! :-) Victory Field is a beautiful ballpark... some say one of the best in the country, and certainly one of the nicest in the minor leagues... and it looks like we're going to have _perfect_ baseball weather tomorrow. It's supposed to be 80, sunny, and a low 30% humidity at start time, dropping to 73 (45% humidity) by 9 p.m. Sweet!
Scattered throughout the weekend are potential recording sessions, so we can get the last of the vocal tracks laid down for "Dream of a Far Light". Guess that means I can't yell _too_ much at the ballgame, eh?
To make my weekend even better, I stopped at GT South's after work and picked up a nice tray of pulled pork barbecue. Yum. I've been wanting GT South's for a couple of weeks, and I keep forgetting to go until Sunday and they're closed on Sundays. So I took advantage of the early release from work and went and stocked up for the weekend. IMO, they're the only place in Indy who really understands southern pit-style barbecue. Their meat is moist, smoky, and completely free of fat and other icky bits. I am a happy carnivore. :-)
